It has been a pleasure to curate CIF workshops this year because of the talent, experience and graciousness of the master craftsmen/woman who are more than willing, they are excited, to share their knowledge and tools with you!
As an improvisor myself, I looked for teachers who practice what they preach; who are from diverse backgrounds with different areas of focus. I ask you to look at yourself and what your work needs; practice in specificity of location? Depth of emotion? Solo scenes? Ways to ground your performance? I promise you that within our workshop selection you’ll find an experience that will enhance the way you play.
We at Chicago Improv Productions are proud to support Improv Practitioners whose expertise is unparalleled, who have been trained by our city’s great institutions, and have now created their own theaters replete with training programs. Bill Arnett (The Improv Studio), Michael Abdelsayed (One Group Mind) and Dina Facklis (The Chicago Improv Den) are among those teaching at CIF 2015.
It is my mission to provide you with an experience that challenges and engages you in a way that complements your festival experience. It would be easy to simply see and be seen, and you will learn from that, no doubt, but don’t forget the benefit of good workout.
