Frequently asked questions from performers.

Q: Will there be a performer pass to get into shows?
Yes. Performers will be given a wristband which will allow them to get into shows when there are seats available. Performers in the curated categories (Long Form, Short Form, Experimental, Alternative, Genre, Musical, Puppetry and Emerging Artists), will receive a green wristband. Performers in the Open Stage category will receive white wristbands.
Q: Are the wristbands good for Featured Shows?
No, if a performer wants to see one of the featured shows, they should buy an advance ticket.
Q: How much do the wristbands cost?
The wristbands themselves are free. Performers with green wristbands can get into shows for free when seats are available. Performers with white wristbands can get into shows for $5 when seats are available.
Q: How do performers get their wristbands?
Passes can be picked up between noon and 6pm, Tuesday through Saturday, at the Chicago Improv Festival office, on the 2nd Floor of the Atheneum Theatre, 2936 N Southport Ave. You may also pick them up:

Q: Is there a hotel for performers?
We have set up a deal for out of town performers at this year’s Chicago Improv Festival at Hotel Lincoln (1816 N. Clark St, Chicago, IL 60614). The cost will be $79 a night in a room with one bed, $109 a night in a room with two beds. You can make reservations by calling (312) 254-4700. You must make your reservation by March 17 to get this rate. After that, the rate will go up. Tell them you are with the festival.
Q: How do I get on the performer mailing list?
If you have not been receiving regular emails from us and you are a performer in a show, you may add yourself to our performer email list.
